CHIEF OF STAFF

Under the direction of the President, the Chief of Staff provides leadership and operational oversight to the Office of the President and will effectively support the President on a wide range of strategic issues, including but not limited to:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Partner with the President and Executive Cabinet, and collaborating with individuals across campus to actively drive the strategic plan and special projects forward, building an atmosphere of coordination and clear understanding of the College's mission, vision, and goals;
  • Maintain oversight of the Board of Trustees and operation of the same with assistance from the Assistant to the President;
  • Serve as the President's representative to various constituencies including the Board of Trustees, management, faculty, staff, students, and alumni;
  • Functions as the liaison for the Office of the President, ensuring the accurate, appropriate, and timely flow of information to and from the President's Office;
  • Provide counsel and strategic advice to the President on daily operations to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and optimal resource utilization, including oversight of the President's Office budget and coordination of special and government relations initiatives/projects;
  • Facilitate the College's achievement of its local, state and federal legislative agenda;
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Communications in the creation of executive- level communications including remarks, reports, and presentations;
  • Serve as Presidential designee where needed on Committees, Task Forces, Workgroups, etc;
  • Assist, as needed, with initiatives such as accreditation and strategic planning;
  • Manage events to promote and support the College within the community and on the RCC campus;
  • Respond on behalf of the President to inquiries from, and/or issues involving, students, employees, and members of the public.

    Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field;
  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in an upper-level administrative role.

    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in appropriate field;
  • Experience in a higher education setting;
  • Experience with a Board of Trustees.

    Starting Salary: $110,000 - $125,000
